This study examines the quality of graduates produced by the tertiary institutions in Nigeria. The study specifically examines the quality level of graduates from tertiary institution in Nigeria, finds out factors influencing quality of university education programmes, and investigates if quality assurance factors affect graduates' employability. The study employed survey research design using students from Nassarawa State University. Random sampling technique was used to sample 267 respondents although 260 questionnaires returned was retrieved and validated for the study. Data were presented and analyzed using frequency and tables. Findings from the study reveals that the the quality level of graduates from tertiary institution in Nigeria is very high. The study also reveals that factors influencing quality of university education programmes include funding, physical facilities, management and academic content. The study therefore recommends that employability skills should be taught as one of the topics in entrepreneurship studies or as a general course because when the curricula incorporates courses that would enhance graduate productivity at work, graduates of our tertiary institutions will be well-equipped to meet the challenges of the changing economy trend. More so there should be periodic reviews of the curricula and programmes of tertiary institutions to make them relevant to existing gaps and responsive to changes in societal needs, labour market requirements, economic trends, rapid changes in information technology and globalization.
